The crematorium.

Created by Steve 4 years ago

Just got back and have to say it was a totally  surreal experience. Grace, her pall bearers, and Pamela did an amazing job under the circumstances. Wealden crematorium is an amazing place. bright and airy, it is set in open countryside. it is way better than Brighton or Eastbourne.  Mum would have been pleased to be one of the first "customers" at this very new facility. it's just a shame she couldn't exercise her bragging rights !!

so there we were in a massive room, just the four of us present. at least it was one more than dad's!  the eulogy seemed to go on for ages, but then mum did lead a very full life. the choices of music were inspired, as was the reading "dust if you must" which totally encapsulated mum's philosophy on life. a few tears were shed, but mostly it was a happy service and we all left feeling uplifted.

it was a shame that most of you were unable to share the day with us, but hopefully you managed to follow through the wonders of modern technology. rest assured you will be invited to meet up and share your memories of a remarkable woman once all this nonsense is over and we have returned to some sort of normality
