Mum and Dad traveled to New Zealand many times  after they retired. In later years it became something of an annual ritual that we  would have a holiday together in a new and previously unexplored place. The simple things were the most memorable - riding around Napier in a vintage car, learning about the city's unique architecture, wading into the ocean at Gisborne to hand feed stingrays, lots of boating activities and sightseeing flights. Mum and Dad grew up in troubled times, and worked had to make sure that we were fed and raised well. I'm glad that Mum had the long and active retirement that she deserved.
